We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established specialist vehicle manufacturing business for a Mechanical Fitter to join their expanding production team at Trafford Park, Manchester. This is a permanent position offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to work with a reputable employer known for designing and producing high-quality commercial vehicle bodies, with full training provided where necessary.
The role of Mechanical Fitter offers the chance to work in a dynamic environment with a competitive salary of £35,500 per annum. The position is based on a 44-hour working week with flexible working opportunities, including early finishes on Fridays. Assemble and fit specialist commercial vehicle bodies in accordance with engineering drawings and work instructions
Safely operate hand tools, measuring equipment, and workshop machinery
Install insulated panels on commercial refrigerated vehicle bodies
Complete electrical terminations, including lighting, switches, and tail lifts
Seal joints, floors, and roofs using silicone and specialist coatings
Cut and prepare metal, timber, and plastic components using workshop equipment
Maintain strict health and safety standards and good housekeeping practices
Support broader production activities as required
Ensure all work is completed to high quality standards, efficiently and accuratelyRequirements of the Mechanical Fitter:

Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or in a similar manufacturing or engineering environment
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Skilled in the safe use of hand tools and workshop machinery
Strong understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes
High attention to detail and quality standards
Good organisational and time management skills
