Description:
Are you an experienced Maintenance Fitter? Do you consider yourself to be reliable and an asset to a busy team? Are you based in or around Fort William?
We have a Maintenance Fitter role available within Aggregate Industries Glensanda Quarry site. PLEASE NOTE that this role requires you to be on site Mon-Fri, arriving and departing via ferry.
This role is ideal for someone with good interpersonal skills and is an experienced skilled worker.
Role: Maintenance Fitter
Location: Aggregate Industries, Glensanda Quarry, Morvern, Oban PA34 5QB - PA371SE
Rate: £17-£20 per hour (40 hours per week with X2 unpaid 30 minute breaks daily)
Contract length: 3 months initially
Shift Patterns: Mon-Fri 100% on site. Ferry to the site leaves at 06:30 on Mon and returning ferry 16:45 on Fri.
Shared accommodation on site with gym, sauna and games room
All meals provided (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
Responsibilities:

Carrying out planned maintenance and repairs to site equipment
*
Contributing to the preparation and development of Safe Systems of Work for repair procedures
*
Responding to unplanned repairs and other requirements
*
Responding to plant breakdowns
*
Ensuring temporary fixes are followed up with a permanent solution
*
Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping
*
Dealing with all daily issues professionally
*
Supporting and training operatives to complete minor maintenance tasks
*
Carrying out safety inspections
*
Operating the site cComputerised Maintenance Management System
*
Reacting promptly to site breakdowns
*
Monitoring and ensuring that all plant stoppages, breakdowns, and logs are documented correctly
*
Completing and adhering to all Safety related documentation for all maintenance activity
Essential Requirements:
*
Full UK Driving License
*
Strong verbal and written communication skills
*
IT literacy
*
Ability to work as part of a 24 hour operation as required
*
Strong work ethic and drive to support the rest of the team
*
Mechanical engineering related qualification
*
Proven experience as a mechanical/maintenance fitter
*
Experience planning and implementing maintenance schedules
*
Good knowledge of working to engineering drawings
*
Strong understanding of current Health and Safety Legislation
