MTrec recruitment are proudly representing our industry-leading client in their recruitment for a skilled mechanical fitter. This is a day shift position, and experience within heavy industry is essential.
The Job you will do:
* Carry out mechanical maintenance, repairs, and installations.
* Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
* Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and breakdowns.
* Read and interpret engineering drawings and manuals.
* Replace and fit components, including bearings, pumps, motors, conveyors, and gearboxes.
* Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
* Complete maintenance records and reports accurately.
* Support machinery upgrades and improvement projects.
* Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures.
* Work collaboratively with engineering and production teams to minimise downtime.
About you:
* NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, apprenticeship, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
* Experience in mechanical fitting or maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to read engineering drawings.
* Knowledge of mechanical systems including hydraulics and pneumatics.
* Good understanding of health & safety practices.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
