Our client, a prominent player in the water sector, is currently seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join their team on a contract basis. This role is integral to the maintenance and repair of machinery, pipework and equipment, ensuring smooth operations within the water industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment, including pumps, valves, pipelines, and filtration systems.
Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues, implementing effective solutions to minimise downtime.
Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure project specifications and timelines are met.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment.
Keep accurate records of work performed, including maintenance logs and reports.Requirements:

Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, preferably within the water industry or similar sectors.
Relevant technical qualifications and certifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, City & Guilds).
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including pumps, valves, and pipelines.
Proficiency in reading technical drawings and blueprints.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to travel to various project sites as required.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
