Mechanical Fitter
Nottingham
£16 - £18 per hour starting rate with optional overtime paid at 1.5 x wage
Fitting and assembly of metal recycling machinery such as shears, strippers, conveyors, balers, cable strippers, casting machines, crackers and more.
This involves fitting hydraulic pumps, hoses and valves, diesel and electric motors, and the mechanical assembly of the machines.
Working from Engineering Drawings supplied by the in-house design team.
The engineering team build new equipment from parts, as well as the complete reconditioning of used equipment into an as-new condition.
The role is site-based and involves machinery assembly, drilling, tapping and basic welding/machining.
There are opportunities for progression into field commissioning and servicing once enough experience has been gained.
Looking for candidates with experience working with special purpose machinery: conveyors, hydraulic machinery, mining equipment etc.
The successful applicants will have:
* Experience with mechanical and hydraulic machines.
* Experience with power tools such as angle grinders.
* Welding experience.
* Experience with pneumatics and electrics is a bonus.
* Forklift driving experience is a bonus.
Hours and Pay:
Working hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday.
Optional overtime is also available between 7:00-8:00am, and 4:30-5:00pm. All overtime is paid at time and a half.
The starting pay is £16 - £18 per hour depending on experience
