£20.00 - £25.00 per hour (Umbrella)
3-Month Contract

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a specialist industrial manufacturing site in Heanor on an initial 3-month contract. Working on a permanent late shift, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of production and process equipment including conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, and associated mechanical systems. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a unique and highly specialised production environment, supporting the reliability and efficiency of critical plant machinery.

Responsibilities - Mechanical Fitter

Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across site.
Diagnose and repair faults on conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, and associated equipment.
Perform equipment installations, mechanical upgrades, and improvement work.
Complete routine inspections and preventative maintenance activities.
Work closely with operations and engineering teams to minimise downtime.
Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in line with site procedures.
Experience Required - Mechanical Fitter

Apprenticeship, NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
Proven experience working as a Mechanical Fitter within manufacturing, process, heavy industry, recycling, aggregates, chemical, or similar environments.
Strong fault-finding and repair skills across rotating and conveying equipment.
Experience with pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
Strong commitment to health and safety standards.
