Mechanical Technician
12-Month Contract
Abingdon, Oxfordshire (OX14)
Full-Time Onsite
Experienced Mechanical Technician required for a 12-month contract supporting complex mechanical installation, maintenance and engineering activities.
This is a fully onsite position, so candidates must be able to work full-time in Abingdon, Oxfordshire.
About You
* Recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship with Level 3 NVQ in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
* Strong, varied Mechanical Technician experience within industrial, manufacturing or engineering environments.
* Experience across mechanical assembly, installation, maintenance, fault finding, repairs and modifications.
* Experience working with complex mechanical systems, ideally including vacuum, cooling or pressurised systems.
* Comfortable working independently and supervising mechanical fitters or other craft personnel.
* Experience working to Written Safe Systems of Work, Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
The Role
You will support major engineering shutdown, maintenance and installation activities, working across new and existing mechanical systems.
* Responsibilities will include installation, assembly, maintenance, fault finding, repairs, system improvements, work package preparation and supporting safe delivery of major mechanical engineering activities.
This is a senior, hands-on mechanical requirement rather than a junior or fitter-level position.
