Description:

Mechanical Engineering Instructor

Permanent

Location: Yorkshire and the Humber

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum

Are you an experienced mechanical engineer looking to share your skills and knowledge with the next generation of engineers?

About the Role

You'll deliver engaging, practical training in mechanical engineering to learners working towards their qualifications, drawing on your own industry background to bring real-world context to every session. This is a role for someone who takes pride in their trade and wants to pass that expertise on, helping learners build the skills and confidence they need to succeed.

You don't need to have taught before. If you've spent years working in mechanical engineering and want a new challenge, full training support will be available to help you make the move into instruction.

Your responsibilities will include:

Planning and delivering practical and theoretical mechanical engineering sessions to learners of varying abilities.

Assessing learner progress and providing clear, constructive feedback.

Maintaining accurate records of learner achievement and progress.

Ensuring that workshop and classroom environments meet health and safety standards.

Supporting learners to develop the practical skills and knowledge required to meet their qualification standards.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering

Significant industry experience in mechanical engineering

Strong practical skills across core mechanical engineering disciplines

Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly

A genuine interest in supporting and developing learners

Desirable (but not essential):

A teaching or assessing qualification

Experience delivering training or mentoring in a workplace or educational setting

If you're ready to bring your mechanical engineering expertise into the classroom and help shape the next generation of skilled engineers, we'd love to hear from you.
