Description:

Duties and Tasks:

• Provides technical & mechanical engineering support and guidance to onsite personnel, ensuring safe and reliable equipment operation across its lifecycle.

• Manages the contract for inspection service.

• Troubleshoots mechanical challenges, collaborating with cross-functional teams, to optimize equipment performance, resolve issues and to contribute or lead RCA investigations.

• Mentors the Mechanical Technicians to develop technical skills and knowledge.

• Accountable for site mechanical standards & specifications for new equipment or repairs to existing equipment, meeting company & industry design standards.

• Manages, enhances and implements preventive maintenance programs to deliver reliability & availability requirements across the equipment lifecycle.

• Evaluates mechanical equipment upgrades vs replacements.

• Leverages understanding of industry & technology developments and relevant regulatory changes to continuously improve terminal operations.

• Manages all aspects of the inspection service contract, with routine management updates on status, contract performance.

• Oversees inspection remedial orders, work selection & completion, acting on all findings, including production of a monthly management report.

• Manages inspection remedial orders and repair activities for mechanical equipment and systems.

• Contributes to the development and implementation of plant-wide reliability improvement initiatives to enhance overall asset performance and uptime with the Reliability Engineer and other relevant Engineers.

• Administrates SHEMS 6D Asset Management System.

• Provides Technical Services continuity cover during absences of other Engineers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Qualified in Mechanical Engineering to degree level.

• IEng Professional Engineer status (or working towards)

Knowledge and Experience

• Understanding of mechanical engineering principles and ability to apply in practise including for pressure vessels, piping, tankage and an understanding of tools used to support design and fitness for service assessment.

• Basic level of materials engineering knowledge/ experience

• Working technical understanding of risk-based inspection principles, equipment damage mechanisms and the types and techniques of inspection

• Some working industry experience utilising mechanical equipment (not limited to Oil & Gas) Contract management experience.

• Ability to analyse data and performance metrics and distil clear recommendations.
