Mechanical Design Engineer (Power Generation)

Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in power generation or process design looking to join a market-leading energy specialist, where you'll work on innovative CHP, Tri-Generation and BESS projects while receiving excellent training and long-term career progression?

This is an opportunity to join a leading international power generation specialist established in 1985. With over 230 employees, the business designs, manufactures, installs and maintains low-carbon energy solutions including CHP, Tri-Generation and battery energy storage systems, helping industrial and public sector clients improve energy efficiency, reduce costs and achieve their sustainability goals.

In this role, you will lead the mechanical design of energy projects from initial concept through to commissioning and operation. You'll produce engineering specifications, process flow diagrams, P&IDs and technical design documentation, while carrying out pipe and pump sizing calculations, safety assessments and coordinating CAD design activities. You'll also liaise with project managers, suppliers and clients and provide technical support on site when required.

This role would suit a Mechanical Design Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or similar, looking to join a forward-thinking organisation where you'll work on technically varied projects and develop your expertise across innovative energy technologies.

The Role:

Lead mechanical design across CHP, Tri-Generation and BESS projects
Produce specifications, P&IDs, process flow diagrams and technical documentation
Complete pipework and pump sizing calculations and safety assessments
Coordinate CAD design and liaise with clients, suppliers and project teams
Provide on-site technical support, surveys and troubleshootingThe Person:

HNC/HND or above in Mechanical Engineering or similar
Experience with CHP, power generation, pipework and ventilation design
Knowledge of CDM and health & safety requirements
Proficient in AutoCAD 3D and Microsoft Office
