Mechanical Design Engineer – Nuclear Sector Opportunity – North West

This company are a key supplier of bespoke Design Solutions within the UK sector, they provide key expertise and knowledge on some of the most technically challenging projects in the UK. They work with and support clients through the full life cycle of projects including concept, detail and scheme design, manufacturing through to installation and commissioning.

They are small yet expanding business with exciting growth plans and a strong pipeline of work, due to increasing work load and future expansion plans they are looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their existing team.

Based out of their office in the North West (a mixture of office, WFH and client site visits), you will be mentored by some of the best engineers in the Nuclear sector, offering a clear path of progression, first class training and the chance to work on some of the largest projects in the UK.

Nuclear experience is not essential as you will be given full support and training within this sector, you must however have the drive and determination to learn and progress within this sector.

Mechanical Design Engineer Role Requirements:

* Create new and modify existing designs using AutoCAD and Inventor

* Generating calculations to size key components to BS2573 (training will be given)

* Produce method statements and risk assessments for installation and commissioning.

* Peer review of designs

* Support the team at client/site meetings.

Mechanical Design Engineer experience and requirements:

* The ability to research and learn new subjects and be a self starter, this is essential.

* You will ideally have Autodesk inventor experience and experience producing drawings to BS8888.

* HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering as a minimum.

* Post graduate experience working as a Mechanical Design Engineer.

* Autodesk 2D CAD experience would also be desirable.

* Full UK driving licence is essential due to location of some sites.

* Due to the nature of projects you will need to have been a resident in the UK for 5 years in order to obtain security clearance.
