White label Recruitment are excited to be working with an extremely reputable and market leading manufacturing company based in the Rochdale area.
The company is looking to hire a Junior Design Engineer for their growing mechanical design department. The role came about due to a growing and very busy order book.
The company has been established for over 50 years’ and are recognised as a leader in their field.
This is an excellent opportunity to shape and influence the design of high value capital projects for our blue chip clients.
As a Junior Design Engineer, you will help support the design team with standard and bespoke equipment. You’ll need to work closely with our engineering team to develop the mechanical design and detailed the equipment to the required standard.
Specifically, you will:
* Understudy the senior engineers and learn to deliver standard and bespoke product designs
* Support the senior engineers in producing engineering and fabrication drawings for in house manufacture
* Produce flatpattern designs an organise nesting programmes for the CNC laser
* Help drive design for manufacture and design assembly best practices
* Create general arrangement drawings, detailed manufacturing drawings, and bills of materials
* Ensure product designs comply with applicable regulatory requirements
* Ensuring components and assemblies meet quality standard
* Help bridge the communication information coming into and leaving engineering
To join us, its not essential you have everything but we’re out looking for:
* Degree, HNC or NQV in relevant field of engineering or fabrication
* A good working knowledge of 3D CAD (such as SolidWorks) 2D CAD (such as AutoCAD or Radan) or similar software, gained from your studies, a professional role or similar (such as a placement)
* Excellent IT skills including proficiency with MS Office applications
* A creative approach and an innovative mindset with the ability to come up with new ideas and improvements for existing processes, products or designs
* Knowledge of flatpattern development and or sheet metal & fabrication background.
