Mechanical Design Engineer, Design Engineer, CAD Designer to work in a new role designing advanced lifting equipment.
The Company
Our client is a leading manufacturer of specialist lifting equipment, who work with and supply some of the largest engineering brands across Europe.
Due to continued growth and an ever-expanding customer base, they are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their production Management team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a design engineer looking to use their conceptual design skills and engineering knowledge with an expanding manufacturer of innovative electromechanical products.
The role:
This will be an extremely varied role and will require you to be dynamic, it will suit someone who is used to operating in a smaller sized business operating at a fast pace in a rapidly changing environment.
Specific duties of this mechanical design engineer role:
* Lead projects, responsible for the design and development of new products.
* Effectively design customised variants from a standard product range
* Prioritise workload and deal efficiently with multiple projects.
* Creation of overall design and assembly drawings to define customer requirements
* Generation of detailed manufacturing drawings for internal or external production
* Creation of BOM for special products and procurement as required
* Liaise directly with customers to review projects
* Work closely with workshop Supervisors to ensure projects are fulfilled on time
As an ideal candidate you will be:
* Degree educated engineer with experience in CAD – Solidworks preferred.
* Able to produce effective, detailed manufacturing information
* A sound background in mechanical engineering, with good knowledge of mechanisms and fabricated assemblies
* Good working knowledge of Standards and relevant legislation
* Able to work as part of a small team
* Excellent communication skills
