A global leader in photonic engineering is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their offices in Torquay, Devon. Our Client provides optical systems, assemblies and components for variety of applications across aerospace, defence, life science and telecoms.

As they are expanding their R&D team in Torquay, Devon, they are now looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their global team. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teamsandplay a key role in the development of mechanical designs for fiber optics components and systems.

Skills required for thisMechanical Design Engineer in Torquay, Devon:

Proven experience in mechanical design and development using Solidworks
Strong experience in FEA
Strong knowledge of material properties and manufacturing processes, ie injection moulding, CNC machining, 3D printing
Excellent communication and problem solving skills
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to fibre optics and telecommunications products highly desirable
