Description:
What you will do
* Design parts and assemblies in 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Inventor or Creo)
* Produce detailed drawings with correct GD&T
* Carry out design calculations and tolerance analysis
* Work with production to make designs easy and cheap to build
* Support prototyping, testing and design changes
* Keep the bill of materials and engineering records up to date
What you need
* Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, or similar
* 2+ years in a mechanical design role
* Strong 3D CAD skills and solid knowledge of GD&T
* Understanding of materials and manufacturing methods (machining, sheet metal, fabrication, moulding)
* Clear communication and good attention to detail
Nice to have
* FEA experience
* Experience with PDM/PLM systems
* Working towards IEng or CEng
