The Role

We are seeking a SCM Make Mechanical Design Engineer (Tooling) to expand to our team to Act as an engineering resource supporting existing and new global tooling solutions, to provide manufacturing design packages for high end tooling assemblies.

In this role,

* Design of bespoke tooling within our product range TRS, VPT, MASS, Precision Pallets

* Design of Special bespoke tooling, aligned to R&D process. Development of new tooling solution, encompassing the stage of the product lifecycle.

* Tooling product R&D development across existing range, but also link to new customer enquiries and requirement.

* Linked to the two activities above support the development of cost-effective tooling solutions through DFM/DFA practices across the product range.

* Support vendor facing engineering activities via generation and maintenance of appropriate specifications.

* Utilise company and team systems (team Centre, NX, SolidWorks, NCR, HEP Database etc). Follow company and team procedures and practices.

* Development of manufacturing jig and fixtures for production assembly. Support the generation of procedures and test program's

* Develop and manage our CAD Template and interfaces.

* Support customer remotely and with onsite visits.

* Deputise other team roles.

* Working to tight lead times, ensuring tooling systems are delivered to the highest standard, correct and on time.

* Providing training and support to new team members, but also supporting with tasks delegated by management, while managing own workload.

About You

We’re looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team!

* Applicable Bachelors Engineering degree qualified.

* Level 5 Qualification HNC/HND with engineering industry experience

* Experienced in the definition, design and, assembly of manufacturing processes, drawing standard and geometric tolerances.

* Knowledge of BS8888 Standards

* Passion to maintain / develop technical and personal expertise.

* Experienced in 3D CAD systems.

* Experience in Team Centre, BOM structure generation.

* Hands on approach to development and problem solving
