Are you a Design Engineer with experience in composite design, looking to work on innovative components and moulds for the aerospace, defence, automotive, motorsport and space industries?

I’m working with a leading UK manufacturer specialising in advanced carbon fibre tooling and composite components, supplying industries including aerospace, defence, automotive, motorsport and space.

Following recent investment and a new phase of growth, they’re looking for a talented Design Engineer to join their skilled design team and play a key role in developing innovative tooling solutions.

???? What will you be doing?

Designing moulds, tooling, jigs and fixtures using CATIA V5.
Creating detailed engineering drawings, including GD&T, for manufacture.
Developing concept designs to support quotations and new projects.
Working closely with engineering and production teams to ensure designs meet manufacturing requirements.
Providing technical support throughout manufacturing and inspection processes.
Liaising with customers and colleagues on design concepts, specifications and project timescales.
✅ What are we looking for?

Strong CATIA V5 experience, including at least 2 years using the Generative Shape Design workbench for surfacing.
A good understanding of carbon fibre and composite manufacturing processes.
Knowledge of CNC machining and tooling production techniques.
Understanding of GD&T, engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
Good communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
⭐ Desirable experience:

CATIA V5 Composites Module or equivalent ply creation software.
Hands-on experience with composite manufacturing and press tooling.
Knowledge of PLM systems and ISO 9001 / AS9100 standards.
