Mechanical Contracts Manager

Description:

My client who are an established mechanical building services contractor based in Hampshire, are looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager to provide senior oversight across several live projects.
 
This is a key appointment within the business and would sit above and support the existing Mechanical Project Managers, providing technical, commercial and operational guidance across the project portfolio.
 
As Mechanical Contracts Manager, you will oversee a number of live mechanical projects and provide support to Project Managers across technical, commercial and programme-related matters.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
·Oversee a number of live mechanical building services projects and provide support to Project Managers.
·Provide technical, commercial and programme guidance to the project delivery team.
·Carry out regular project and site reviews to maintain visibility across live projects.
·Provide senior-level intervention where projects encounter client, technical, commercial or delivery issues.
·Review project risks and ensure appropriate mitigation measures are implemented.
·Monitor procurement, programme, commissioning and project close-out.
·Support Project Managers in maintaining project standards and delivery consistency.
·Assist with the allocation of labour, plant and resources across multiple projects.
·Maintain strong relationships with key clients and take responsibility for senior client-facing matters.
·Work closely with the wider management team on operational and project-related matters.
·Provide leadership, guidance and support to the mechanical project delivery team.
·Help drive consistent standards, processes and best practice across project delivery.
·Support the successful completion of projects from pre-construction through to final handover.
 
You will have:
 
·Significant experience managing mechanical building services projects.
·Previous experience in a Contracts Manager, Senior Project Manager or similar senior delivery role.
·Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services.
·Experience overseeing multiple projects and supporting Project Managers.
·Good commercial awareness and an understanding of project financial performance.
·Experience managing programme, procurement, commissioning and project close-out.
·Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to step into challenging situations and provide practical solutions.
·Excellent communication and client management skills.
·Experience managing and allocating labour and resources across multiple projects.
·The confidence to make decisions and take ownership of project issues.
·A practical, hands-on approach rather than a purely strategic or managerial mindset.
