Description:

Mechanical Construction Supervisor, reporting directly under the Constructions Management.

To support the delivery of construction work, the co-ordination and oversight of sub-contractors and on-site construction activities to ensure work is conducted within established safety, quality, schedule and cost standards.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

 - Delivery of Proposal and Project Scope:

Work will be executed via the management of allotted tasks using existing construction methodologies, process and procedures to work in line with existing Business Operating Procedures (BOPs).
Competence will be demonstrated through implementing standardised and structured construction work packages, as assigned by a more senior member of the construction team, using existing procedures to achieve objectives.
Work can be executed independently or as part of a team, though all work is subject to review and approval by a more senior member of the construction team.
The role holder will demonstrate relevant industry experience and an established knowledge of standard principles, theories and practices for construction work, as well as a good working knowledge of the wider engineering construction industry that Doosan operates in completion of activities on time, to the required quality and to target costs as agreed. - Execution

Monitor construction activity to ensure that construction tasks are achieved in line with Business Operating Procedures (BOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs) within pre-defined safety, quality, schedule and cost standards.
Organise relevant documentation (e.g. work instructions, RAMS., installation sequencing) to build, maintain and report accurate event profiles (e.g. cost, resource and schedule forecasts). - Governance

Comply with national laws/regulations and adhere to the Construction Management Process including company-wide & functional BOPs and WIs to act in line with standardised working practices.
Support the implementation of key safety/quality communications, including Focus2Zero and critical task protocols (e.g. error prevention tools), to ensure that all site activity is conducted in line with company/customer standards.  - Innovation

Look for opportunities for efficiency savings and development as well as contributing to project reviews/lessons learned in order to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Meet if not reduce costs for Construction Work Package Delivery. - Communication

Communicate effectively with all team members to ensure the achievement of safety, quality, schedule and cost standards.
Build and maintain an internal and external (customer, contract partner and supplier) relationship network in order to sustain performance against safety, quality, schedule and cost standards.
Contribute to decision making to satisfy stakeholder requirements.
Completion and Issue of reports in a timely manner. - People Development

Take accountability for their own personal Professional Development Record as part of Doosan’s talent management ethos.
Ensure that post-job assessments are completed in line with event completion dates so that accurate development records are retained for each employee.
Successful completion of assessments and development plans in a timely manner.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience Required

Time Served Apprentice / NVQ level 2 /C&G

Professional Qualifications ONC/HNC/HND in Mechanical / Electrical / Civil & Structure, or significant or related experience.

 - Job-related:

Knowledge and application of construction methodologies, procedures and process delivery in safe manner to quality, cost and schedule.

 - General:

IT Skills, Planning and Project Management, Management of Functional and Dispersed Teams, Client and Man Management Skills. - Experience:

Minimum of 3 years section or supervisory experience.
Management of 10-15 people.
