Description:
We are looking for a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer to provide first-line maintenance to a fast-paced, large-scale, renewable energy facility in Durham reporting to the senior engineer and will be responsible for carrying out repairs and maintenance on a variety of equipment and processes.
Due to the nature of the business, they have seen considerable growth over the last 5 years, this role is a new role to the plant to help provide support for the continued investment & growth.
You will work within the engineering team to carry out planned and preventative maintenance, you will need to be a multi-skilled engineer with a mechanical bias and have experience within a heavy industry setting.
Responsibilities of a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer:
Carry out repairs and maintenance on process pumps, mechanical sorting equipment, and gas handling equipment.
Perform mechanical, electrical and C&I fault finding on a variety of process equipment.
Write job cards and fault reports using Microsoft Office applications.
Assist the senior engineer with stock management and procurement.
Manage contractors, including RAMS review and issue of permit to work.
Contribute to the delivery of on-site capital projects.
Assist plant operators with processing as and when required.
Take part in the duty call-out and remote monitoring rota. Requirements of a mechanically biased Maintenance engineer:
Minimum of a level 3 Engineering qualification, Apprenticeship or equivalent.
Time-served engineer ideally with a heavy industry background.
Experience of mechanical and fluid handling equipment and processes.
Honest, approachable, can-do, flexible, consistent, self-starter able to communicate effectively with 3rd party sub-contractors, operators, and management.
Attention to detail and accuracy, and experience and knowledge of mechanical and electrical repairs and fault finding in a heavy industry.
Knowledge and skills within AD and gas regulations., would be a distinct advantage. Benefits of a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer:
Basic salary £47,700
4 on 4 off days and nights pattern following training.
