Description

The main duty of the Supervisor is to oversee repair and installation work conducted by the contractor throughout the project. The Supervisor conducts inspections, ensures that safety procedures are being adhered to and maintains inventory of installation parts.

Technical Role

Examination design drawings and specifications.
Issue Request for Information to designers.
Raise Technical Queries on design as required.
Provide technical assistance to the contractor.
Fluent with Inventory and Materials Management concepts, such as inventory control and analysis, material lead times, cost analysis, usage analysis.
Project scheduling assistance.
Review the project planning and scheduling for projects during the construction phase, identify any construction slippages and assist in optimising the contractor's resources.
Liaise and co-ordinate with different discipline Supervisors, Projects Engineers, End Users, Asset Holders and other relevant departments.
Inspects and reports on the condition, completeness or suitability of equipment purchases or about to be purchased for the use of the department and makes recommendations where required.
Raises Non-Conformance Reports on sub-standard equipment and installations.
Develops and implements standard work procedures to continually improve overall team productivity.
Contractor installation recording and feedback to Site Manager.
Continuous quality check and sign off as per Quality and Inspection & Test Plan procedures with recording and feedback issued to the Quality Management Team.
Be able to make decisions based on knowledge and experience.
Review construction method statements, pre commissioning procedures and endorse red mark drawings and project dossiers.
Commissioning duties for the respective discipline.

Safety

Control and endorse work permits for the project work and ensure that safety regulations, project safety plans and environment regulations are understood and followed by the contractor.
Ensure safety of all employees and contractors working in operating unit or department by driving continuous improvement towards a true safety culture.
Assist in coordination of cross training and upskilling of contractor teams as required and defined by the Project Manager.
Responsible for safe working practices.Experience

7+ years of supervisory experience preferably within renewables sector.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and MS Project.
Trade Qualified in an Engineering / Technical discipline.
Extensive exposure to construction activities within a renewables/heavy industrial environment.
Ability to develop and mentor team members.
Have the ability to communicate well.
Have strong leadership and motivational skills with the drive and focus to deliver results through teams.
Strong ability to perform well under pressure and in stressful situations and circumstances.
Must display logistical thinking, critical thinking, multitasking skills, problem solving skills and decision making skills
