Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a M&E Site Supervisor on a 6 month rolling Contract, based in Norfolk.

This role is Outside IR35

Job Description Summary

The project is an extension of an existing 400kV AIS substation tripling the size of the existing site to allow customer connections onto the network.

The candidate shall assist the site manager and supervise the works on site including interfacing with and sensibly monitoring any subcontractors whilst feeding back the necessary information to the site manager

Complete all necessary internal reporting to a high standard and lead by example when interfacing with external parties such as clients, project stakeholders, sub-consultants/subcontractors, enforcement agencies, local planning authorities & statutory bodies.

The individual should be experienced in delivering all aspects of M&E works including supervising through the commissioning and fencing works. The candidate would ideally be happy to work towards gaining there SR163 authorisation to provide short term site cover when required. #

Site based role. Must have the ability to safely manoeuvre around a construction site including uneven and rough terrain on foot for up to 10 hours per day.

For the office element they must have the ability to use repetitive hand motion and the ability to grasp and type using general office equipment. Must be able to sit for long periods of time, talk, hear, walk and stand. Must be able to lift and or move up to 10 pounds.

Ability to travel nationally is required for the role. Level of travel may vary over time depending on project and client requirements, but expectation is up to 100% of working time spent travelling per year depending on project location

The individual should be able to book and arrange all of their own travel and accommodation

Job Duties

* Ensure compliance to CDM regulations on site.

* Ensure all setting to work procedures are followed.

* Ensure works are delivered to a programme whilst maintaining the highest standards of health and safety.

* Produce reports and provide information in a timely manner.

* To provide sufficient and timely supervision and guidance to ensure staff and sub-contractors are performing to agreed production levels.

* To maintain own levels of skill and knowledge to do the job effectively.

* To perform other duties as directed by your line manager pr management team.

* To comply with the relevant Company HSQE and welfare policy provisions.

* To support clients and ensure all agreed KPIs are met or exceeded.

* Promote best practice, capture best practice and ensure it is fed-back into the business.

* Leas by example in health, safety, quality & environmental management.

* Ensure quality standards are met and maintained throughout the project and assist with the generation of as built drawings.

* Assist with the implantation of Safw Systems of Work including issuing Permits to Dig and Hot Works Permit.

* Set others to work and monitor throughout the task / project

Minimum Qualifications

* Full UK driving license

* National Grid Competent Person NSI 6 & 8 IOSHH Managing Safely or SMSTS or SSSTS

* CSCS or CCNSG Safety Passport

* Minimum 5 years experience in the T&D industry, preferably on National Grid sites

* Pervious experience in supervisory level

Desirable Qualifications

* HNC / HND in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering

* Formal Electrical / Mechanical training

* Impressed Voltage training

* Temporary Works Coordinator or Supervisor experience

* IOSH environmental or equivalent

* HSG47

Skills and knowledge

- Must have a strong M&E, LV & HV knowledge

- The ability to empathise, communicate and influence stakeholders and the Project Team.

- The ability to lead by example and motivate the project team.

- Excellent organizational, communication and time management skills.

- Be able to work on own initiative.

- Computer literate.

- Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively,

- Must have the skills and confidence to supervise and coordinate site requirements and task

- Must have an understanding/ knowledge of the clients Transmission procedures
