Job Title: M&E Project Manager
Location: Newport, South Wales (site based)
Salary: £300 per day
Start date: 1st July 2024
Duration of job: Up to 1 year

The Role:

- Responsible for Mechanical & Electrical aspects of the project.
- Overseeing one large commercial project in Newport which consists of a Site Supervisor/Manager and a mixture of direct & subcontract labour.
- Responsible for effective relationship management with clients & working partners to achieve smooth operational and commercial progression of projects.
- Making sure health, safety & welfare is maintained and adhered to at project/site level.
- Managing projects from start on site stage, through all phases until handover to the end user.
- Ensuring that all related design information is correctly and fully audited to secure overall compliance.
- Overseeing all elements of the overall commissioning process to ensure that the installations are correctly commissioned.
- Ensuring that complete and comprehensive records are collated and maintained covering all aspects of quality control, system/equipment testing, commissioning and equipment maintenance.
- Working closely with the commercial team for progress reports and to ensure all commercial and contractual requirements are correctly fulfilled.
- Attend site meetings, as and when required.
- Overseeing the preparation of operation & maintenance manuals.
- Providing technical support and expertise to the internal project team.
- Managing variation costings and control with the commercial team.
- Responsible for handover to clients and after care.
- Site based role.
- Standard working hours: 08:00-16:30, Mon-Fri.
- Reporting to the Operations Director.

The Company:

- London based company delivering Mechanical & Electrical projects throughout the UK.
- Acting as the Main Contractor on this project.
- Offices based in London.
- This hire is due to the company being awarded a project in South Wales and wanting to build "local" team for the duration of the job.

The Ideal Candidate:

- Will have 5+ years experience working as a Mechanical Project Manager.
- Will be Mechanical biased but will have good Electrical & HVAC knowledge. Experience even better.
- Will have previous experience working with large commercial projects.
- Will hold a Black CSCS Managers Card. SSSTS/SMSTS and HND/HNC advantageous.
- Will be good at working independently and be good at system use/reporting.
- Will work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Will have excellent communication skills.
- Will be located within a 45 minute drive from Newport and willing to be on site daily.
