The Client
Our client are Mechanical and Electrical (MEP) Technical Services specialist with over 19 years of industry experience; managing high value complex projects for the likes of the BBC, WeWork, The Hut Group, Kelloggs and many more throughout the UK.
They provide technical consultancy support and advisory services across every aspect of the Design and Build sector including; Healthcare, Commercial, Educational, Industrial, Retail & Leisure. They are looking to add an experienced M & E Project Manager to their team.
The Role of M&E Project Manager
We are currently seeking an experienced M&E Project Manager to join our clients team. As M&E Project Manager you will work alongside the project team ensuring that all matters pertaining to MEP technical services are considered. They ensure the business presents and delivers appropriate MEP technical services solutions to their clients.
* Assess the services solution requirements for a project either by reviewing the issued performance specification or by understanding the building systems and project parameters detailed in the brief.
* Understand the existing building systems that are being retained or modified as part of the works, including investigation of as-built information, overview of system conditions, restrictions, and risks.
* Provide input into the design rationale provided by our supply chain partners – review scope and proposals to ensure that we put forward a solid and correct system solution.
* Collaborate in the design process with wider team, ensuring that the design is sympathetic with the services and that we minimise the level of modification of systems.
* Establish a plan around services development with the project team and ensure that this is clearly and effectively communicated and implemented, both internally and externally, including (but not limited to): Technical assessment and report of potential building systems, Outline design brief, Risk analysis and planned mitigation, Specialist system requirements, Outline design proposals and Detailed design proposals.
* Provide plain English overview of technical services project development, challenges, risks and progress for both internal and external parties.
* •Troubleshoot all risks and concerns in regard to technical services, resolving these to a final solution that meets the project’s parameters.
* •Monitor services performances on site – ensure quality and programme are maintained throughout installation and handover. Resolve any matters of risk that arise.
* Attend internal and external meetings as required, providing clear concise summary of all works associated with services.
* Assist with snagging inspections and lists, ensuring that systems are handed over with minimal defects.
* Ensure the client team has adequate training on systems.
* Provide checked O+M information at point of handover including all supporting documentation and certification.
The M&E Project Manager will have
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in building services project delivery
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to manage projects effectively and efficiently.
* Willingness to work flexible hours and travel when necessary
