Description:

Dunbar Education Recruitment Agency is seeking dedicated Maths Teacher to join our team on a full-time basis. If you have at least 6 months of experience working in SEN settings and have a QTS in Science we want to hear from you!

Purpose of the Role:

The Maths Teacher will deliver high-quality Maths education to students with special educational needs. The teacher will create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment that fosters the academic and personal growth of each student.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching and Learning:

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated science lessons that meet the individual needs and abilities of SEN students.
Utilise a variety of teaching strategies and resources to make the subject accessible and exciting for all students.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and adapting teaching methods as necessary.
Classroom Management:

Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages respect and cooperation.
Implement effective behaviour management strategies to ensure a safe and orderly learning environment.
Individual Student Support:

Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to the specific needs of each student.
Provide personalised support and interventions to help students overcome learning barriers and achieve their full potential.
Collaboration and Communication:

Work collaboratively with other teachers, teaching assistants, SENCO, and external professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
Communicate regularly with parents and carers, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.
Professional Development:

Engage in ongoing professional development and training to enhance skills and knowledge in SEN and maths education.
Stay updated on current best practices and innovations in teaching science to students with special needs.
Safeguarding and Welfare:

Ensure the safeguarding of all students by adhering to school policies and procedures.
Attend regular safeguarding training and maintain a thorough understanding of safeguarding issues and protocols.Qualifications and Experience:

At least 6 months experience working in a SEN setting.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
A valid DBS certificate.
A current Safeguarding Certificate.
Additional qualifications related to SEN (desirable).Skills and Attributes:

Strong subject knowledge in Maths.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to create engaging and differentiated lesson plans.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting SEN students.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.Working Conditions:

The role is primarily school-based, with occasional requirements to attend meetings and training off-site.
Working hours typically follow the school day, with additional hours for meetings, preparation, and training as needed
