Location: Redbridge, East London
Start Date: End of November / December 2026
Contract: Part-time, 0.6 (3 days per week), Maternity Cover
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

Are you a passionate and enthusiastic Maths Teacher looking for a part-time teaching opportunity in a supportive secondary school?

We are working with a secondary school in Redbridge that is looking for a dedicated and engaging Maths Teacher to join their team on a part-time 0.6 basis to cover maternity leave, starting towards the end of November or December 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maths Teacher or an enthusiastic ECT who enjoys inspiring young people, building confidence in mathematics and helping students achieve their full potential.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. The ability to teach Key Stage 5 would be advantageous but is not essential.

The Role

Teaching Maths to students across Key Stages 3 and 4
Opportunity to teach Key Stage 5, depending on experience
Working on a part-time 0.6 timetable (3 days per week)
Planning and delivering engaging, challenging and differentiated Maths lessons
Supporting students of varying abilities to develop their mathematical knowledge and confidence
Preparing students for GCSE examinations and assessments
Monitoring, assessing and recording student progress
Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Managing classroom behaviour effectively and maintaining high expectations
Working collaboratively with the Maths department and wider teaching team
Supporting students to achieve their academic potentialThe Ideal Candidate

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching Maths at secondary level, particularly KS3 and KS4
Experience teaching KS5 Maths would be advantageous but is not essential
A strong understanding of the secondary Maths curriculum and GCSE requirements
Passionate about teaching Maths and helping students succeed
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Ability to plan engaging lessons that motivate and challenge students
Confident assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback
A positive, flexible and proactive approach to teaching
