Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract: Full-Time | Permanent

We are seeking a passionate and resilient Maths Teacher to join a specialist Alternative Provision in Stoke-on-Trent, supporting young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a teacher who believes that relationships, consistency, and creativity are just as important as curriculum delivery. You will play a vital role in helping students re-engage with education, build confidence in maths, and achieve meaningful progress both academically and personally.

The Role

You will:

Deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons to small class groups
Support students with a range of additional needs including Autism and SEMH
Create a calm, structured, and nurturing learning environment
Use adaptive teaching strategies to meet individual learning styles
Work collaboratively with pastoral teams, support staff, and families
Promote positive behaviour through relationship-based approaches
Encourage students to develop resilience, independence, and self-belief

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

Holds QTS/QTLS or equivalent teaching qualification
Has experience teaching Maths at secondary level
Understands the needs of students with Autism and SEMH challenges
Is patient, empathetic, and adaptable
Can build strong, positive relationships with vulnerable learners
Has excellent behaviour management and communication skills
Is committed to inclusive education and improving outcomes for every child
