The Role:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Maths Teacher with a proven track record of working with students who have learning difficulties and dyslexia. The successful candidate will possess the skills to adapt their teaching strategies to meet diverse needs, ensuring every student can access and enjoy learning mathematics.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality maths lessons that are accessible and engaging for students with learning difficulties and dyslexia.
Develop and implement individualized learning plans (ILPs) that address the specific needs of each student.
Use a variety of teaching methods and resources, including multi-sensory approaches, to enhance understanding and retention of mathematical concepts.
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing feedback that supports further learning and development.
Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and external professionals to create a cohesive support system for each student.
Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes confidence, resilience, and a love for learning.
Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in teaching maths to students with learning difficulties and dyslexia.
Qualifications and Experience:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Experience teaching maths at the secondary school level, with a focus on students with learning difficulties and dyslexia.
In-depth understanding of the challenges faced by students with dyslexia and other learning difficulties, and strategies to support them.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment.
Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
Desirable:

Additional qualifications or training in special educational needs (SEN) or dyslexia.
Experience with specific interventions and support strategies for students with dyslexia.
