Job Title: Mathematics Teacher
School: Mainstream Secondary School with GOOD Ofsted Rating
Location: Sutton Area
Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Mathematics Teacher to join a mainstream secondary school with a GOOD Ofsted rating. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality mathematics education to students across various age and ability levels.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective mathematics lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students.
2. Implement the school's curriculum and ensure that teaching methods are aligned with curriculum standards and objectives.
3. Use a variety of instructional strategies and resources to promote active learning and student engagement in the subject.
4. Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to students and parents/guardians.
5. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters academic achievement and personal growth.
6. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and share best practices in mathematics instruction and contribute to the overall improvement of the department and school.
7. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, behavior, and academic performance in accordance with school policies and procedures.
8. Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues to support the educational development and well-being of students.
9. Participate in departmental meetings, professional development activities, and other school-related events as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
2. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
3. Proven experience teaching mathematics at the secondary level, preferably in a mainstream school setting.
4. Strong subject knowledge and a deep understanding of mathematics curriculum standards and assessment practices.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities.
6. Effective classroom management skills and a commitment to creating a positive learning environment.
7. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to support the overall mission and goals of the school.
8. Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to stay updated on current educational trends and practices.
9. Familiarity with educational technology and its integration into mathematics instruction is desirable.
