Materials Controller / Stores Supervisor, Salary: up to £34k + Excellent benefits, Based: Bridlington, East Riding of Yorkshire

We have an exciting opportunity for a Materials Controller to work for a global and leading manufacturing business. Applicants should ideally have previous experience of working in a supply chain role as a Materials Controller / Materials Manager / Stores Supervisor / Warehouse Supervisor or similar. Experience in a stores / warehouse management environment using MRP materials management software systems and holding an FLT / PPT licence is required.

The Materials Controller is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the efficient management of materials required for manufacturing. Reporting to the Stores Manager, the role involves collaborating with technical and production teams to ensure the smooth flow of components/services necessary for production. The primary focus is on optimising inventory levels, enhancing material delivery performance, and supporting the production team in meeting delivery dates.

Materials Controller / Materials Scheduler – the role:

Manage a small team of materials specialists / line feeders.
Monitor and control material flow, ensuring on-time delivery to production lines. Ensure on time delivery of materials as per picking schedule.
Collaborate with Manufacturing, Buying, and Supply Chain teams for efficient inventory receipt, storage, and distribution.
Provide stock level support in accordance with agreed processes.
Ensure HSEQ Compliance
Assist the Stores Manager to create and develop a new stores facility and stock control system.
Integrate goods in/goods out management using company software and processes in particular Business Central.
Assist the Stores Manager in delivering the Lean Manufacturing strategy for continuous improvement. 6S, elimination of waste etc.
Carry out visual and quantitative checks on goods inward.
Use Business Central to accurately control and monitor delivery and distribution of materials.
Work with the Stores Manager and line feeders to ensure timely material flow from stores to lineside.
Candidate requirements:

Experience in a Materials Controller / Materials Manager / Stores Supervisor / Warehouse Supervisor or similar role.
Previous experience in a stores / warehouse management environment.
It is essential that you hold a lifting equipment license for this role e.g. forklift, PPT.
You will be computer literate, specifically in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
Demonstrable experience with MRP materials management software systems.
Experience with Business Central is advantageous, although full training will be provided.
