Materials Handler – 6 Month Contract

Location: Severn Beach, Bristol

Salary: £13.50 per hour + 10% Shift allowance £1.96 holiday pay= £16.50-£17 per hour

Shift: Monday–Thursday 06:00–14:00, Friday 06:00–11:00

Shift Allowance: 10%

Contract: 6 months, with potential for extension

The Company

A leading engineering and technology business based in Severn Beach, Bristol, is looking for a Contract Materials Handler to join their team on an initial 6-month contract.

The business works within advanced engineering and manufacturing, supplying technology and solutions used across areas including semiconductors, medical technology, electric vehicles and quantum computing.

The Role

As a Materials Handler, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely movement of materials throughout the site, from goods-in through to production and goods-out.

You will work closely with production and other departments to ensure materials are correctly received, stored, picked and delivered where required.

Key Responsibilities

Receive incoming materials, check against delivery notes and accurately book items into the system.

Correctly label, protect and store materials in designated locations.

Pick and prepare materials and kits for production.

Ensure materials are accurately labelled with the relevant part, work order or destination.

Liaise with production teams to ensure materials are delivered on time.

Prepare and issue palletised and high-level assembly goods to production.

Maintain accurate stock records and complete system transactions.

Carry out cycle counts and investigate any stock discrepancies.

Accurately process returned-to-stock items and ensure they are correctly located.

Maintain records of vendor consignment stock for audit purposes.

Support other departments with the movement of materials.

Provide support to the Packing team during busy periods and staff absence.

Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience in a materials handling, warehouse, stores, goods-in, goods-out, logistics or manufacturing environment.

We are looking for someone who is:

Accurate and organised with strong attention to detail.

Comfortable working with stock and computerised systems.

Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.

Able to follow processes and procedures accurately.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Confident communicating with production and other internal teams.

Committed to maintaining high standards of housekeeping and safety.

Package & Benefits

£13.50 per hour + £1.96 holiday pay = £15.44 per hour

Overall hourly take home with 10% shift allowance is= £16.50- £17 per hour

10% shift allowance

6-month contract with potential for extension

25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays

Monday–Thursday 06:00–14:00

Friday 06:00–11:00
