Marketing and Events Assistant (12-month FTC)

Pertemps are currently recruiting for a Marketing and Events Assistant on behalf of our client based in Shrewsbury on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract.

It will be your responsibility to provide support services to the marketing and business development department to strengthen and improve existing relations with clients and to develop new business.

Duties include but not limited to:

Working closely with the marketing director to plan, execute and attend events, including careers fayres, business expos, seminars, agricultural shows, social events which will take place in locations close to our offices or further afield.
Assist with setting up display stands and peripheral marketing activities at events and seminars.
Assist with the communication and management of guest lists to various events.
Assist with the production of presentation packs, peripheral marketing materials and name badges for seminars and events.
Create and update various spreadsheets/central documents.
Update records on Microsoft Dynamics and create marketing lists.
Develop targeted e-marketing campaigns using Constant Contact or similar.
Maintaining records of unsubscribes adding to suppression list and removing records from Microsoft Dynamics.
Research and competitor analysis.
Assist with updating the firm’s website, including adding and deleting staff, job vacancies etc.
Assist in ensuring the firm’s social media presence is maintained.
Working with external graphic designer arrange artwork as necessary for booked advertising.
Assist with the drafting, editing and preparation of articles such as blogs and submissions to legal directories.
Assist with the co-ordination of the electronic delivery of newsletters to clients and contacts.
Assist with maintaining central telephone directory and communicating with call handling service.
Providing general support to the marketing director and team which may include, typing, diary management, arranging meetings.

Ideal Candidate:

Minimum 5 GCSE’s Grade A-C including IT is essential.
Marketing experience is essential.
Experience with events is essential.
Excellent working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook Power Point and Desktop Publishing is essential.
Demonstrable experience of using websites, social media channels and generally to be digitally ‘savvy’.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, adapts style and able to confidentially communicate by telephone, email and in person with a wide range of people.
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deliver to tight deadlines under pressure.
Excellent attention to detail including strong proof-reading skills, grammar, and spelling.
Good awareness of design trends and creative thinking, as well as a flair for writing and editing content to a high standard.
Ability to meet the transport needs of the job as travel to other sites and venues will be required.

Hours: Mon – Fri 09:00am – 17:15pm | 1 hour lunch | 36.25 hours per week.

Salary: £22,000 - £27,000 Dependant on Experience.
