Role: MAP Technical Support analyst

Level: graduate or junior / mid-level

Location: Tadworth, Surrey

Remote work: ideally 1-2x days onsite a week but my client can be flexible for the right role

Salary: £27,000 - £35,000 but flexible

I am looking to fill in a new role for a Technical Support analyst, Great starting role for someone who has just started work

The ideal candidate is a graduate with a science/engineering/analytics/IT degree or 1-2 years' experience.

The successful candidate would move out of this position into a larger role after about 1 ½ to 2 years once they have learnt about MAP etc. They would then be expected to recruit and train their replacement.

Be proactive as this is not a long-term role it's a training role
Be ambitious for a career as his role offers unlimited progression
Technical numeracy as you will be reading technical data
From a Civil, process or mechanical engineering to understand pumps and what they do in water management

The role is ideal for a practically minded, technical graduate who is looking to develop their career into Data Analytics. The role will focus on analysing operational data and insights, automatically generated from MAP, in order to identify data issues as quickly as possible and to help us deliver a pro-active service.

The role will involve the analysis of large datasets using a mixture of Excel and R/Python. You will be working with an existing team that has over 20 years' experience working together as a team. We see this role as an excellent way for an enthusiastic graduate to develop data analytics skills and gain experience in handling and processing complex datasets. We would expect the successful candidate to be able to move upwards in the business after circa 1 ½ to 2 years and to help recruit and train your replacement.

Principal accountabilities:

Review of all MAP e-mail alerts sent to customers

Update site details if an odd trend is identified: Partial blockage; faulty sensor etc
Snooze alerts if they look like they will be repeated in near future
Forward critical alerts to key personnel if a blockage/pump failure etc is identified
Aim is to always be ahead of the customer in the analysis

Review of all reports sent to customers

Review trends and reports to identify issues
Maintain MAP so that all Report Notes are updated
Work with reporting team to continually improve reports

React to customer queries

Add new users - working with MAP Tech support
First line support for potential bugs/issues raised by customers

Work with MAP Tech Support and Analytics team

Interact with customers and attend customer meetings
Help deliver MAP training for the dashboard
Good to excellent understanding of Excel
Graduate with a science/engineering/IT/data analytics degree
Ideally with 1-2 years of experience but not necessary

Additional Useful Knowledge / Experience:

Use of R
Python
Understanding of databases and SQL
Understanding of statistics and data analytics

Able to work on their own initiative and with minimum levels of supervision.
Take responsibility to respond to customer requests and see through to completion, on time to meet customer expectations.
Possess good communications and interpersonal skills.
Have strong and clear, written, and verbal English communications skills.
Possess good problem solving and analytical skills.
