Manufacturing Technician II - Temporary (6-Month Contract) | Birmingham | £13.53 p/h | Immediate Start

The Assignment

We have an immediate requirement for a Manufacturing Technician II to join a leading organisation within the medical diagnostics and life sciences sector based in Birmingham.

This is a 6-month temporary contract supporting the manufacture of innovative diagnostic products used worldwide. Working within a busy Operations team, you'll play a key role in ensuring products are manufactured to the highest standards of quality, compliance, and efficiency.

The assignment is expected to run for 6 months, with the potential for extension.

What the Work Involves

Working as part of a fast-paced manufacturing team, your duties will include:

Managing your own workload against a published production plan.
Ensuring materials and inventory are available and accurately transacted to complete assigned work.
Operating and maintaining designated equipment, manufacturing areas, or processes.
Completing production activities in line with quality and compliance requirements.
Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and supporting process enhancements.
Taking ownership of your work to ensure tasks are completed accurately and right first time.
Supporting additional operational activities as required.

Hours, Shifts & Pay

Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday, 07:00-15:30

Pay Rate: £13.53 per hour

Pay Frequency: Weekly

Holiday Pay: Accrued in line with agency regulations

What We Need From You

Minimum 1 year of experience within a manufacturing, production, operations, laboratory, or similar environment.
Strong quality and compliance mindset.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
IT literate, including experience using Microsoft Office and Excel.
Ability to learn new processes and follow detailed instructions.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
Comfortable working independently and performing under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Good technical aptitude and confidence working with machinery or manufacturing equipment.

Desirable Experience

Experience working within a cGMP-regulated environment.
Previous inventory management experience.
Exposure to continuous improvement initiatives.

Technical competence with machinery and manufacturing equipment.
Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and meet deadlines under pressure.
