Description:

Contract Manufacturing Quality Engineer (MQE)
Aerospace | Defence | Manufacturing | Quality Engineering
AS9100. RCCA. 8D. FAI. Manufacturing Quality.
We’re recruiting an experienced Contract Manufacturing Quality Engineer (MQE) to support a high-performing aerospace and defence manufacturing environment.
This is a hands-on contract assignment for someone who can come in, get up to speed quickly, and make an immediate impact across manufacturing quality.
You’ll work closely with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to resolve issues, drive corrective action, and improve shop-floor quality performance.
If you’re a contractor who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly regulated manufacturing environment and can take ownership from day one, we want to hear from you.
What you’ll be doing
* Managing manufacturing non-conformances and coordinating containment activity.
* Leading RCCA and 8D investigations through to effective closure.
* Driving corrective and preventive actions to reduce repeat quality issues.
* Supporting Production teams to improve quality performance and reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
* Completing and supporting First Article Inspection (FAI) activity in line with AS9102.
* Supporting product verification, inspection, and release activities.
* Working directly with Manufacturing Engineering and Production to resolve shop-floor quality issues.
* Identifying manufacturing process improvements and opportunities to improve product quality.
* Supporting supplier, manufacturing, and customer quality activities.
* Helping clear quality issues, backlogs and corrective actions where required.
* Supporting wider quality improvement activity across the manufacturing operation.
What we need
We’re looking for experienced contract Manufacturing Quality Engineers who can operate with minimal supervision and deliver quickly. You’ll ideally have:
* Previous contract or project-based quality engineering experience.
* Experience within aerospace, defence, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
* Strong working knowledge of AS9100.
* Hands-on experience managing manufacturing non-conformances.
* Strong RCCA and 8D capability.
* Experience with FAI and AS9102.
* A strong understanding of shop-floor manufacturing quality.
* Experience working with Production and Manufacturing Engineering teams.
* Exposure to supplier and customer quality activities.
* The confidence to challenge, influence, and drive actions through to closure.
Why this contract?
This is an opportunity to join a business that needs experienced Quality Engineers who can add value immediately. You won’t be joining simply to observe existing processes.
You’ll be expected to take ownership, solve problems, close quality issues, and help improve manufacturing performance.
For contractors who enjoy technically challenging environments and assignments where their experience genuinely makes a difference, this is a strong opportunity.
Interested?
If you’re an experienced Manufacturing Quality Engineer with an aerospace, defence, or regulated manufacturing background and you’re open to your next contract assignment, we want to hear from you.
