Manufacturing Manager
Prime Appointments are recruiting for an experienced Manufacturing Manager, Production Manager, Tooling Manager or Engineering Manager to join an established precision engineering business with over 80 years of industry experience.
Supplying sectors including aerospace, defence, rail, marine and heavy engineering, the company is looking for a hands-on leader to oversee tooling, processes, quality and Health & Safety, while supporting day-to-day factory operations.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations, tooling and processes.
Design, manufacture and maintain jigs, fixtures and production tooling.
Develop and improve methods and processes.
Interpret technical drawings, specifications and tolerances.
Provide hands-on technical support and resolve workshop issues.
Drive improvements in quality, efficiency and productivity.
Lead, motivate and develop the workshop team.
Maintain high standards of Health & Safety and quality.
Work with senior management to achieve targets and support business growth.
About You
Proven experience within precision engineering or toolmaking
Strong background in production tooling and toolmaking.
Hands-on machining and workshop experience.
Confident interpreting technical drawings and tolerances.
Engineering apprenticeship or qualification desirable.
Previous team leadership or supervisory experience.
Strong problem-solving, organisational and communication skills.
Practical approach with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
Salary & Benefits
£55,000 - £65,000, depending on experience.
Monday-Thursday 8:00am-5:00pm; Friday 8:00am-1:00pm.
28 days' holiday, increasing to 34 days with service.
