Howdens are recruiting a Group Leader to join our work surfaces manufacturing site in Holme on Spalding Moor, East Yorkshire. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting our continued growth, leading a high-performing team, and helping us deliver outstanding service to our customers.

Contract Type | Permanent

Shift Pattern | Monday to Friday | Week One: 05:45-14:00, Week Two: 13:45-22:00 (40 hours per week)

Reporting To | Operations Manager

What you will be doing as a Group Leader:

Leading and developing your team to achieve safety, quality, service, and productivity targets

Monitoring team performance and providing effective feedback, support, and training

Planning daily production activity to ensure customer demand is met

Maintaining high standards of health and safety through audits, SOP reviews, risk assessments, and accident or near-miss investigations

Analysing KPI and OEE data to identify opportunities for improvement and drive performance

Working closely with maintenance teams to minimise downtime and maximise machine efficiency

Driving engagement and accountability to create a positive, high-performing team culture

What do you need to qualify for the Group Leader role:

Experience working within a leadership role ideally in a manufacturing environment

A proven track record of implementing continuous improvement processes and working knowledge of lean manufacturing processes

Experience managing KPI and quality control plans

Experience of applying health and safety procedures within a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Excellent problem-solving, influencing, and decision-making skills

The ability to lead change, motivate others, and drive results through people
