The Engineer is required to offer production support to the CNC process through writing programmes and using CAD CAM. Full training and development in company and manufacturing systems with excellent starting salary.

Key Responsibilities and Activities

* Create part numbers, write the processes, write the programmes, cost it

* Day-to-day production support across a variety of manufacturing processes, including turning, milling and grinding

* Data driven process capability and process improvement activities

* Customer interface for engineering changes

* Technical interface with suppliers

* New product introduction activities, including manufacturing process and layout creation, prototyping and serial production support

* Lead costing and quoting exercises

* Defining manufacturing instructions, CNC machine program creation (CAM) and creating technical documents

* Support implementation of new CNC equipment

* Support reduction of scrap, loss and rework through process control and improvement

* Liaise with Design Office, Supply Chain, Planning, Customer Service, EHS and Quality Assurance functions

* Some international travel to be expected

The candidate

Skills and Experience

Essential

* Manufacturing/Production Engineering background

* CAM program creation and management

* Process knowledge of either turning, milling and/or grinding or come up a machining

* New Product Introduction experience

* Apprenceship or qualification

Desirable

* Experience of NC programming for single and multi-functional equipment

* Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems

* Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment

* Appreciation of aerospace bearing products and their applications

* Knowledge of lean or 6sigma tools

* IT literate, interest in IoT and digitalisation

* IEng/CEng accreditation or similar, or a desire to work towards

* HNC/HND or degree

OR an engineering graduate looking for an entry level role

* Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK to apply for this position
