You’ll develop machining processes, improve tooling and workholding, support machine installations and create the documentation and training needed to keep production running safely, efficiently and consistently.

The Role

• Using Microsoft Project to plan, monitor and report on project activity

• Coordinating machine installations, commissioning and associated contract management

• Working with suppliers and contractors to ensure tasks are delivered safely and on time

• Supporting Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives

• Providing technical updates and project reports to internal teams

What We’re Looking For

• Experience designing fixtures and selecting or specifying cutting tools

• A track record of improving machining methods, tooling or processes and delivering cost or efficiency gains

• Experience producing SOPs, work instructions and manufacturing documentation

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Project

• Demonstrable experience managing engineering or manufacturing projects

• Experience using SAP or a similar ERP system

• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and machining requirements

• Practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving with strong organisational skills and attention to detail

• Confident communicator, able to work independently, collaborate across teams and liaise with suppliers and contractors

• GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 or above, or equivalent

Desirable

• PRINCE2 or equivalent project management qualification

• Previous machine operator experience

• SolidWorks, Inventor or similar CAD software experience for fixture design

• Background in precision machining industries such as aerospace or automotive

• Knowledge of continuous improvement methods such as Kaizen or TPM

• Previous experience in a Manufacturing Engineering or similar role

You’ll be proactive, reliable and committed to safety and quality — someone who takes ownership of their work, shares knowledge freely and brings practical ideas that make manufacturing better.
