Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Romsey 5 days per week onsite
Duration: 6 months
Day Rate: £390 per day pay/£450 per day charge
IR35: Inside
Candidates must be willing and eligible for BPSS and SC clearance for this role.
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer for an innovative tech and engineering organisation operating within the UK defence space. You'll play a key role in improving the way complex electronic and electro-mechanical products are assembled, tested and delivered.
This is a hands-on Continuous Improvement role for someone who enjoys getting into the detail, solving problems and making measurable improvements across manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities:
Drive Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement initiatives to improve productivity, cost, lead times and quality
Lead structured problem-solving using 8D, RCA, DMAIC and PSP
Identify and deliver Lean / CI projects from concept through to implementation
Implement and improve PFMEA, 5S and Asset Care programmes
Investigate and resolve product non-conformances
Support Production with electronics & hardware assembly, testing and troubleshooting
Identify manufacturing risks, issues and improvement opportunities
Work closely with Engineering, Production, Supply Chain and Project teams
Support Supply Chain improvement initiatives
Drive a genuine culture of continuous improvement across the operationRequired Experience:
Strong experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma & Continuous Improvement
Green Belt / Black Belt - Lean Six Sigma
Experience leading manufacturing improvement projects and change
Strong knowledge of electronic and electro-mechanical assembly & testing
Experience troubleshooting product non-conformances
Practical knowledge of 8D, RCA, DMAIC, PSP, PFMEA & 5S
Experience with automated/manual measurement and test equipment
Familiarity with MRP systems - IFS would be advantageous
