Managing Quantity Surveyor | Water Framework
Location: Exeter, Devon
Salary: £75,000 - £82,000 + Company Car / Car Allowance + Comprehensive Benefits

A Managing Quantity Surveyor is required to join a leading infrastructure contractor at their offices in Exeter. The Managing Quantity Surveyor will take responsibility for leading the commercial function across a growing portfolio of capital water projects, managing an established team of Quantity Surveyors while helping to build the team as new work is secured.

The role would suit a Senior Quantity Surveyor, ready to step up or a Managing Quantity Surveyor looking for more autonomy and an opportunity to put their own mark on a growing business unit. You'll have the opportunity to influence how the commercial team grows, implement best practice and play a significant role in the continued expansion of the business across the South West.

Reporting into the Commercial Manager, the Managing Quantity Surveyor will oversee the commercial management of multiple civil engineering and infrastructure schemes delivered under the NEC contract.

Your responsibilities will include:

Leading and mentoring a team of Quantity Surveyors.
Recruiting, developing and growing the commercial team in line with an expanding workload.
Providing commercial support across multiple live projects.
Managing contract performance from procurement through to final account.
Reviewing applications for payment, compensation events and subcontract accounts.
Producing commercial reports, forecasts and CVRs.
Managing risk, change and cost control across the framework.
Building strong relationships with operational teams and South West Water.
Ensuring NEC contracts are administered correctly and consistently.
About You
You'll already be operating at Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing Quantity Surveyor level within the civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure sectors and be confident managing projects, clients, stakeholders and team members.

You'll ideally have experience in the following areas:

Previous experience leading or mentoring commercial teams.
Strong working knowledge of NEC3 or NEC4 contracts.
A background in civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure projects.
Experience managing subcontractors and commercial reporting.
Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.Salary & Benefits
