Managing Quantity Surveyor - Kent
A leading civil engineering contractor is looking for an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join a major infrastructure project in Kent.
This is a senior commercial position, suited to someone who has experience managing significant project values, leading commercial teams and driving commercial performance across a complex infrastructure project.
The Role
As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you'll take a lead role within the project commercial team, overseeing commercial performance and supporting the wider project leadership team.
You'll be responsible for:
Leading and managing the commercial team
Overseeing the commercial performance of the project
Managing cost reporting, forecasting and CVRs
Reviewing commercial risks and opportunities
Leading subcontract procurement and commercial negotiations
Managing change, variations and compensation events
Ensuring effective cost control and commercial governance
Supporting project strategy and delivery from a commercial perspective
Managing client and subcontractor relationships
Reviewing and challenging commercial performance across the project
Mentoring and developing Quantity Surveyors and Senior Quantity Surveyors
About You
We're looking for an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in major civils, infrastructure or complex engineering projects.
You'll ideally have:
Significant NEC experience
Experience managing commercial teams
A strong track record on major infrastructure projects
Excellent commercial and contractual knowledge
Experience managing change, risk and commercial reporting
Strong subcontract procurement and negotiation experience
The ability to operate at both project and strategic level
Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills
