Managing QS / Senior Commercial Manager To £120k + Bens

Bristol

Required by innovative and rapidly growing construction group with a new regional office based in the heart of Bristol to commercially lead £50m landmark commercial redevelopment in the Harbourside

This project underpins the establishment of a permanent Southwest and M4 corridor division, creating opportunities for experienced professionals to join a growing regional business at an early stage.

Project Value: £50m+ • Programme: PCSA June 2026, Main Contract October 2026, Completion May 2028

The scheme is a high-profile refurbishment of a Grade II listed building, delivering modern commercial space within a complex heritage environment with challenging logistics and phasing.

This key project will establish our clients presence and support long-term expansion across the Southwest and M4 corridor, focusing on commercial refurbishment and Cut & Carve projects going forward

Owing to the business success they are looking to secure the services of a talented and experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Lead to head commercial activities on this project

Your remit will include :

• Work collaboratively with the supply chain. Develop long term relationships that produce results

• Work collaboratively with the client, professional team and PQS ensuring we are offering best value for the project and to develop lasting relationships.

• Operate a ‘no-surprise’ approach, continually updating cost reports, advising on Early Warning cost issues and informing the client and the team on out-turn cost

• Being involved with the detail of the project especially everything effecting finances. ATD in everything we do, which reflects the culture of Ambit

• Understand the programme and employ a proactive approach to supporting the construction team to meet deadlines

• Supportive, particularly of commercial team. Mentor younger and less experienced members of your team and encourage others to do the same.

• Engender a feeling of pride in producing very high-quality output. Influence the whole team in this way, including the client, consultants, suppliers and your own internal team

• Work collaboratively with the design team and consultants. Try to understand their problems and frustrations.

• Do not let problems and issues fester and do not ignore them. Act on problems and if you need help with something or think you may be out of your depth or have run out of ideas – please ask for assistance

• Helpful, collaborative, strong, able to compromise, organised and structured, prepared, practical, encourage others

Solution are looking to speaking with an experienced Tier 1 / Tier 2 commercial leads from a strong building background looking for a 1st class operational role within a fluid business who can demonstrate commercial office and cut & carve experience
