Able Bridge Recruitment are currently working with a household branded business in the heart of Fife in the recruitment of a Management Accountant/Cost Accountant.

The role has arisen due to a longstanding employee retiring, however the opportunity has been taken to re-shape the post to adapt to an increase in the order book and evolving market trends.

Reporting into the financial controller you will be working closely with operational stakeholders within the business, as well as forming part of the accounting production team. The team currently consists of transactional finance, financial accounting and management reporting professionals as well as a head of finance and financial controller.

The Responsibilities
The purpose of this role is to provide financial support and management to the new product development team (NPD), as well as analysis of the financial performance of new products. Your key stakeholder groups will be the management accounting team, the production team and the end customer.

On a day-to-day basis you can expect to be responsible for the following;
Responsible for the costing of new product ranges in collaboration with new product development team.
Retrospective analysis of new product financial performance and critical appraisal of the pre-development costing model.
Working closely with the production team and management accounting team in the production of management information and additional specific board pack information.
Flash reporting of new product lines and integration of financial information.
Creation of financial models to allow for efficient and effective cost forecasting for future projects/new products.
Work closely with the financial controller and leadership team in the evaluation of product successes and failures with a view to driving the commercialisation of the business.
Project accounting and reporting where required.

The Requirements
Our client has suggested that the successful candidate is likely to be either qualified or actively pursuing a formal accounting qualification, however they are open to applicants who are qualified by experience. It is essential however that applicants have at least 3 years of accounting experience/financial analysis experience within the UK and have the right to work in the UK permanently without restrictions. Personal attributes that we seek are an inquisitive mindset, the ability and desire to proactively build strong relationships with stakeholders and a keenness to drive commercial decision making. Advanced Excel skills are required as you can expect to be modelling financial information using Macro`s, Lookups and pivot tables.

Our client will be expecting the successful applicant to be based in the office on a blended working model, the model that we are working with is 60% in the office and 40% working at home, however this may change and you may be expected to work more often in the office.
