Every set of accounts you produce needs to be right first time, and that's exactly the standard here.
You'll get straight into the detail: margins, stock valuation, and variance analysis that actually shapes decisions.
This is a role for someone who takes real pride in getting the numbers right, not just close.
As a Management Accountant, you will benefit from:
Genuine autonomy over how you manage your workload and priorities
Direct exposure to senior stakeholders and commercial decision-making
A supportive management structure
The chance to shape processes and systems as the finance function develops
Career progression within a well-established business
Full time office based role
As a Management Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
Prepare and present monthly management accounts and board reports
Lead gross margin analysis by product line
Produce and interpret variance analysis comparing actual results against budget and forecast
Oversee stock valuation and reconciliation across chilled and frozen inventory
Manage VAT returns and other statutory reporting requirements
Support and review the work of an Assistant Management Accountant
As a Management Accountant, your experience will include:
Qualified or part-qualified CIMA, ACCA, or ACA (or equivalent)
Proven experience in a management accounting role, ideally within food distribution, wholesale, or FMCG
Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
Strong understanding of stock control and cost accounting
Experience working confidently with high-volume transactional data
A confident communicator, comfortable business partnering across operations and procurement
