Reporting to: Commercial Director
Responsible for: Finance Team (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Invoice Automation & Purchasing Executive)
Salary: £40 - £45,000
The Role - Management Accountant
We are seeking a commercially minded Management Accountant to join our Senior Management Team and take ownership of the company’s finance function. This is a hands-on role responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, managing cashflow and forecasting, and providing financial insight to support strategic and operational decision-making.
The successful candidate will also lead a small finance team, ensuring efficient day-to-day processing across accounts payable, receivable, and purchasing activities while driving continuous improvement within finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts and financial analysis
* Manage cashflow, budgeting, and forecasting processes
* Provide financial reporting and commercial insight to support business performance
* Lead, support, and develop the Finance Team
* Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with statutory and company requirements
* Contribute to strategic planning and performance monitoring as part of the Senior Management Team
* Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies
Candidate Profile
* ACCA or CIMA qualified
* Previous experience within an SME or fast-paced operational environment
* Proven experience managing a small finance team
* Strong hands-on experience producing management accounts and managing cashflow
* Sage experience essential; Sage Intacct experience advantageous
* Knowledge of invoice finance or factoring beneficial but not essential
* Commercially aware, proactive, and detail-oriented with strong communication skills
