Description:
A specialist role within an established independent accountancy practice, working with a portfolio of charities and not-for-profit organisations across their day-to-day finance needs. This is much more than a reporting position, with responsibility for outsourced finance, management accounts, statutory accounts and ongoing client support.
You will become a key contact for your clients, giving you the opportunity to build strong relationships and really understand how each organisation operates. With a good level of autonomy and a varied workload, this would suit an experienced accountant who enjoys client-facing work and wants to use their technical skills in a more advisory setting.

Management Accountant – About The Role
Working as an extension of your clients' finance teams, you will provide a broad range of accounting support across a portfolio of not-for-profit organisations. You will have responsibility for producing regular financial information, supporting clients with their wider finance requirements and ensuring statutory obligations are met.
The role offers considerable client contact and autonomy, with the opportunity to develop a detailed understanding of each organisation and provide practical support where needed. Key responsibilities:
Take responsibility for a portfolio of charity and not-for-profit clients
Produce monthly and quarterly management accounts
Prepare year-end statutory accounts
Provide outsourced finance and accounting support
Assist clients with budgets, forecasts and cash flow reporting
Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
Deal directly with clients on accounting and finance queries
Coordinate year-end requirements and liaise with external auditors
Manage reporting deadlines across your portfolio
Look for ways to improve financial reporting and processes
Provide practical advice and support to clients as their needs develop
The successful Management Accountant will have:
ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or qualified by experience
Previous UK accountancy practice experience
Strong management accounting experience
Experience preparing statutory accounts
Confidence managing client relationships and taking ownership of a portfolio
Outsourced finance experience would be advantageous
Previous exposure to charities or not-for-profit organisations would be beneficial
Strong communication and organisational skills
Good Excel and accounting software skills
Full right to work in the UK
