As a Management Accountant at Longhurst Group, you will provide essential accounting support for our parent company and subsidiaries, ensuring the delivery of precise and timely financial information in compliance with relevant Financial Reporting Standards. Your role will be pivotal in aiding both the Group and stakeholders to make informed decisions based on the Group's financial status.
Further key responsibilities are listed below:

Attending monthly budget holder meetings, discussing financial positions and variance analysis.

Working alongside budget holders to create yearly budgets.

Work with budget holders to complete quarterly forecasting.
*
Production of monthly management accounts for Group and subsidiaries.

Working alongside external auditors and contributing to the preparation of annual accounts, including preparation of notes for financial statements.
In order to be successful in application for our Management Accountant position, you will need a strong background across the finance function, including financial / management accounts. Having strong communication skills is also a must to translate complex information to stakeholders. This role provides scope for individuals that may come from accounting within the public sector, manufacturing, or other commercial sectors to diversify their accounting knowledge & skills within a new sector.
Our Management Accountant role is offered on a 9-month fixed-term contract, and operates in a hybrid capacity, contracted to 28 hours per week. To us, this means a minimum of 1 day p/week spent in either our Boston or Peterborough office for collaboration with colleagues across the Group, with the remainder of the week working from home (subject to business needs - we are open to discussion around how this is built into working weeks). A large portion of our Finance team are also work in a hybrid nature, mostly working across the Boston or Peterborough offices but collaborating in the Boston office on a frequently.
