Who will you be supporting?
Hi, I am shortly going to be living in my own home in Birchington, Kent and will be supported by SeeAbility.

Experience supporting people like me, an autistic man with some complex health needs, would be a strong advantage.  I am looking for calm, assertive Support Workers with a great sense of humour to join my team who is not easily offended. You need to support me to lead the life I want and to encourage me to be gradually more and more skilled and confident.
Whilst I need a quiet and happy environment in my home, I like to do activities. I really enjoy walking, listening to music, eating out and people watching so I’d love it if you liked these things too.

I’d love for people to join my team who have the same interests. Being physically fit, 100% reliable and able to provide me with personal care support. I have autism and sometimes my behaviour can be challenging but that shouldn’t stop me doing the things I love and leading an active life.

You will encourage me to learn life skills and gain independence but that’s something everyone needs at times. I ask for your patience, confidence and can see the value in small gains. You will follow coaching from my behaviour support person and are willing to help when needed we will get along just fine!

You will work with me and provide care and support, with my complex needs and behaviours that can challenge. These can be physical and emotional, so being resilient, open-minded, and non-judgemental is essential. If you have worked with individuals who have who have varying behaviours that are described as challenging, this could be the place for you!
