MMP Consultancy currently have an opportunity for a Major Works Programme Manager to join a Housing Association based in Sutton, Surrey. This will be a interim position paying £600p/d Umbrella.

This role will involve a minimum of 3 days p/w in the office.

What We're Looking For:

Do you have experience of managing project budgets and implementing action plans to address

adverse variances?

Are you knowledgeable of building construction, best practice and regulations?

Are you qualified in MRICS, CIOB, Degree or HNC or relevant qualification and/or management

experience or equivalent in managing Construction projects in Investment, Repairs and

Maintenance?

Are you able to successfully motivate and manage a team of professional and technical staff?

Do you have experience in surveying/inspecting buildings, specification writing, tendering and

procurement?

A bit about the role:

As a Major Works Programme Manager, you will manage the delivery of planned investment

programmes and provide leadership to the team of Capital Works Surveyors/Project

Managers/Clerk of Works/Resident Liaison Officers.

To effectively manage partnered and JCT contractors and consultants, procuring additional works

contracts and staff resources where necessary. Proactively manage budgets exceeding £5m per

annum.

Some of the key results for the role include:

Managing the contractors and ensuring the delivery of complex investment projects ontime, budget and to a high standard of quality, ensuring value for money and excellent

service provision. To ensure the Section 20 process is undertaken and completed in full

where required.

Ensuring that procurement and competitively tendered contracts meet agreed contractorselection processes and health and safety standards, and that statutory requirements

including the Public Contracts Regulations are adhered to.

Overseeing and supporting the Capital works Surveyors/Project Managers as required inthe development of survey-based specifications and tendering and procurement

processes. Supporting the Programme Manager and the consultants to develop

programme and delivery forecasts for work programmes.

Effectively managing relationships with contract partners, consultants and supply chain toensure contractual, procurement, statutory and regulatory compliance.

Before applying you must have all of the following criteria to be shortlisted for an interview:

5+ years of planned/capital works surveying experience in housing refurbishment contracts
5+ years management of 8+ technical staff members.
Have a strong contract management background in housing refurbishment contracts within a local authority or housing assn.
Lead on the management of multiple housing refurbishment contracts/projects ranging from £150k to £25 million.
Lead on housing refurbishment contracts procurement.
Lead on the programming of Planned/Capital Works Programmes
